News is all about Windows 8 this week! Whether it concerns desktop or mobile devices, a brand new ecosystem is about to be launched by Microsoft. Will it change the way users see and interact with their products? Will it change the way most of the companies in the world work using Microsoft products?
According to mobile experts working for BGR across in the US, “While Windows 8′s new Metro interface promises a fresh look for longtime Windows users, a new survey from Forrester Research finds that only about 33% of the companies it surveyed plan to update to Microsoft’s (MSFT) new operating system. About 40% surveyed said they haven’t considered Windows 8 yet and 10% plan to skip it entirely.”
They also noted that “Microsoft (MSFT) just brought Christmas early for all Xbox 360 owners. Started yesterday, Microsoft is gradually rolling out the new Xbox 360 dashboard update to Xbox LIVE subscribers across the globe. The new update refines the previous Metro-inspired UI to bring it closer in line with the company’s upcoming Windows 8 operating system.”
Finally BGR say that “though the odds are against it and pricing seems questionable to some, launch-day preorders for the base model of Microsoft’s (MSFT) debut tablet are already sold out. As of Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after pre-sales went live at noon on Wednesday, shipping times for the stand-alone 32GB Microsoft Surface tablet slipped to “within 3 weeks.”"
Does that mean Windows 8 won’t be hit? At least they launched great ads to promote the products!

Analyzing Microsoft Surface: Will it be a hit or miss?
Date 17th October, 2012
Let me just start off by saying that I really like the Microsoft Surface. Judging by the initial product announcement in June and even most of the information that has floated around since then. It looks like a quality piece of hardware with a pretty good operating system. Windows 8 should shine on tablets — take one look at the UI and you know that is the form factor Microsoft designed it for.

Driving app downloads and engagement through mobile search
Date 11th October, 2012
There are now millions of apps across the App Store and Google Play, not to mention Windows Marketplace and the new Amazon Appstore. With over 50% of the UK’s population owning a smartphone, and apps proving such a vital channel for keeping the consumer engaged, the competition for app visibility is huge. Too often, businesses have apps developed without defining a clear marketing strategy for their app launch and without knowing how competitive the app market is.

Imagine five years out. It won't hurt, we promise. Once again the ad business will be growing. But a new media and marketing order will be taking hold.
